My Two Favorite Cards: Pop Up Origami Flower Card & Ship/Lighthouse Card. (Stamps used by: Stampin' Up!)

My favorite card to make!

All the cards in this blog contain stories behind them.

For instance, the origami card was a story developed over three years. I mean, When I first got acquainted with rubber stamps, I was like a kid in a candy store!

If you've never used stamps and ink pads before, I urge you to try it!

This is an example of real BASIC Stamping. It is still FUN!

Its great fun and you're SO surprised you can create this amazing image all by yourself. It sounds stupid, but the feeling is real!

This simple little card is SO MUCH FUN to make!

I played around with all kinds of images and colors but it took me a while before I understood 'two step stamping'.

That came after the first YEAR!! But the effect was profound. Two step stamps are different in that they are big and bold, have way less details and you need two stamps to complete one image.

The STAMP SET use to make this card is an example of TWO STEP STAMPING!

Usually two colors will get the image and effect you're looking for but if you need more colors than this, there is always the technique that involves blowing colors on a stamp with a 'blower' that shoots air over a special stamp marker.

This is a technique using stamp ink pens to COLOR the stamp before you stamp on paper!

It creates a watercolor effect when you shoot multiple colors on the stamp. After you get a hang of it and are able to measure where the stamp 'fits' so that both stamps don't overshadow each other, you can get quiet a great image!

This card uses MASKING and a MULTIPLE color STAMP PAD to create!

Well, it wasn't till my second year that I began to get involved with origami. It was due to our association with Stampin Up! that we discovered this. We went monthly to a stamping convention at the Duarte Spaghetti Factory. It was amazing all the things I saw there!

This stimulated my imagination and I began to fiddle around with different images and origami styles. It was then that I stumbled upon this design in a craft book. I loved it as soon as I saw it!

Oh no! Suddenly I have to run! I will explain more cards when I come back!
